Successful completion of the DIG4BIO Workshop: Introduction to Computer-Aided Tools for Process Design

📅 23–26 February 2026 | 💻 Online

Over four intensive days, participants explored state-of-the-art computer-aided tools for bioprocess design and optimisation. The programme covered:

🔹 Industry-standard simulation tools (AVEVA Process Simulation, SuperPro Designer)
🔹 Python-based simulators for flexible ODE modelling
🔹 Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for bioreactor optimisation
🔹 Compartment modelling and AI surrogate models
🔹 LLM-based chatbots, prompt engineering, and AI applications in bioprocessing

Led by an outstanding team of lecturers from DTU and partner institutions — Carina L. Gargalo, Fiammetta Caccavale, Ulrich Krühne, Johan le Nepvou de Carfort, Victor Puig I Laborda, and Mikkel Seegert — the workshop combined theoretical foundations with hands-on training and project work.

A sincere thank you to all lecturers and participants for their engagement and scientific enthusiasm.

This initiative reinforces DIG4BIO’s commitment to advancing digital competencies, modelling excellence, and AI integration in biotechnology research and innovation. 👏 Acknowledgments:
