Highlights from DIG4BIO Workshop: Introduction to Python – A Successful Event!
From 10–12 September 2024, we had the pleasure of hosting the 1st DIG4BIO Workshop: Introduction to Python.
This hands-on course provided (bio)chemical engineers with the opportunity to learn Python programming and apply it to real-world modelling scenarios.
Workshop Highlights:
– Participants delved into Python syntax, solving ODEs, stoichiometry, and explored practical examples like upstream and downstream modelling. The course offered valuable insights into how Python can be used for applications in (bio)chemical engineering.
Course Lecturers:
- Carina L. Gargalo, DTU
- Fiammetta Caccavale, DTU
Course Assistants:
- Johan Le Nepvou De Carfort, DTU
- Rosa Haßfurther, TUB
- Rodrigo M., IST
Program Overview:
- Day 1: Python basics and reactor design
- Day 2: Use cases such as E. coli models and diafiltration
- Day 3: Hands-on projects that allowed participants to apply their learning
We are thrilled by the enthusiasm and engagement of all attendees, and we look forward to organizing more workshops in the future!
Thank you to everyone who made this workshop a success!
