We rocked the European Researchers’ Night!
Last Friday, September 27, 2024, the DIG4BIO project proudly showcased its work at the European Researchers’ Night, hosted at the Pavilhão do Conhecimento – Ciência Viva in Lisbon. Our booth focused on Physical Twins and Gene Therapy and offered visitors a hands-on experience to learn how plasmid DNA is produced and its pivotal role in the development of mRNA vaccines. The highlight? Our interactive Lego vaccine factory, which captivated attendees of all ages! A huge thank you to Ana Azevedo, Ana Rita Santos, Ricardo Silva, Francisco Marques, and Simão Fonseca for your hard work and dedication in making this event a success!

Highlights from DIG4BIO Workshop: Introduction to Python – A Successful Event!
From 10–12 September 2024, we had the pleasure of hosting the 1st DIG4BIO Workshop: Introduction to Python. This hands-on course provided (bio)chemical engineers with the opportunity to learn Python programming and apply it to real-world modelling scenarios. Workshop Highlights: – Participants delved into Python syntax, solving ODEs, stoichiometry, and explored practical examples like upstream and downstream modelling. The course offered valuable insights into how Python can be used for applications in (bio)chemical engineering. DIG4BIO kick-off meeting 
The kick-off meeting of the EU project DIG4BIO took place on July 1st, 2024, at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), in Lisbon. The event marked the official start of a promising collaboration led by Instituto Superior Técnico, in partnership with the Technical University of Berlin (TUB) and the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). This Twinning action is set to advance IST’s research capacity and profile in digital biomanufacturing, while also bolstering research management and administrative skills.
