Attending the Training School on Mechanistic Modelling in Bioprocess Engineering
Participants are currently attending the training school “Mechanistic Modelling in Bioprocess Engineering: From Theory to Application”, a hybrid event taking place from March 31 to April 3, 2025, at DTU (Technical University of Denmark).
This 4-day course dives deep into the world of mechanistic modelling for microbial cultivations, blending theory, case studies, and hands-on exercises.
Some of the key topics covered so far include:
✅ Biological reaction rate models
✅ Model structure selection and parameter estimation
✅ Inhibition kinetics and modelling of mixed cultures
✅ Sensitivity and uncertainty analyses
✅ Stochastic and hybrid modelling approaches
✅ Real-world case studies in water treatment and recombinant protein production
✅ Hands-on sessions using Python and simulation tools
Led by a fantastic team of experts from DTU and TU Berlin, the course is helping DIG4BIO participants strengthen their skills in Python-based simulations, model validation, and data integration – all essential for the future of digital bioprocess development.
A great opportunity to dive into cutting-edge content, collaborate, and gain practical tools that will support the mission of DIG4BIO.
